While Dish isn't yet ready to officially reveal the details of its new "Hopper" multiroom DVR setup or any wireless broadband plans, it has announced the addition of video on-demand streaming to its Remote Access iPad app. For users with the Blockbuster @Home package or premium movie channels like HBO, they can log in with their Dish Online ID and be in business. The remote viewing portion has also been refreshed, with what we're told is an updated guide. For Google TV owners, it also announced an official tie-in with the developers of Thuuz to record the live sports programs it alerts users to. The updates to the iPad DRA app just make the app the much more out of this world, now you can stream your live television with the sling though it, and have access to a ton of VOD content anywhere. Not a lot more you can ask out of a mobile app then that. I am really like The Hopper as well, with the release at CES yesterday we all got to see the new receiver. Granted it has been a while coming, but this is one of the most complete whole home DVR’s I have seen. On top of running 4 televisions independently, it has a massive hard drive that gives you 250 hours of high definition recording time. A new feature that is exploding on the Hopper is Primetime Anywhere, it will automatically record primetime shows from all 4 major networks and let you access all of those shows for 8 days. You can now get caught up on your time, and enjoy the hair you won’t be pulling out dealing with scheduling conflicts. Do you like music as well? That sound system begs for music when you are cleaning, and The Hopper will give you that as well. Sirius XM radio and Pandora will grace the receiver for your ears pleasure.
